First Things First
So! Since I got interested on how charming Flowerhorns are, I started a set up using a 50-gallon tank and added some non toxic rocks you know, just to add life to the tank itself. Well, actually there is no easy in putting up your own tank, quiet laborious cleaning the tanks plus extra care for the fish because they only cost as much as my whole allowance for a month, then double it. Actually, this fish was not mine but offered by a friend to be taken of care of me. Well, quiet scary because if something unfortunate happens, its gonna be friendship over I think but I still took it at as a challenge to pet this flowerhorn to also learn about them.
Sooo, If you're asking how much would a set up of this flowerhorn aquarium would cost? Im gonna give you an estimate as I tell you the story oh how I started my aquarium.
Well, usually flowerhorns need much space since they like to swin and roam around the tank, so they roughly need a minimum of 20-gallon aquarium which lucky of me got it free in our aquatics laboratory in our school, well borrowed technically but upon asking prior to my set up, an aquarium at this big would cost you around Php 1,500.00. Next on my set up is my rocks which quite a bit ROCKS! :) Actually, I wanted to put so much plants and designs all over my tank but a friend of mine advised that Flowerhorns need not of these plants and colorful rocks whatever because flowerhorns are quite aggressive and they're gonna tear apart everything it can. So, I decided to put white rocks just to give life to the tank, this cost me Php300.00. Of course the set up will not be complete without the aerator and the filter which I bought at Php250.00 each. Another is that you're gonna need a pump to change the water easily everyweek that costs Php200.00 which I borrow from a friend. Lastly, you're gonna need a feed for your fish which costs Php120.00 that will last amlost for a month. That gives you a total of Php2,420.00 for just the tank and your flowerhorn depending on the price you got it and hola! this is what my tank looks like.
